Time-efficient, robot-controlled deburring of planetary carriers

Based on our TECHTORY-floor-cell with a rotary indexing table, two planet gear carriers are machined simultaneously in this system. In this process, the mounting bores of the planetary gears are deburred in a single operation and all additional burrs produced during machining are removed in the subsequent stations.

The use of our standardized products ensures an extremely economical machining process.

Deburring and brushing station for planetary carriers

Time-efficient, robot-controlled deburring of planetary carriers

Based on our TECHTORY-floor-cell with a rotary indexing table, two planetary carriers are machined simultaneously in this system. In this process, the locating holdes on the planetary gears are deburred in a single operation and all additional burrs produced during machining are removed in the subsequent stations.

The use of our standardized products ensures an extremely economical machining process.

Robot cell to punch 2D films automatically

Automatic hardcoat film punching

In this line, hardcoat polycarbonate films are punched automatically in a 3-shift operation. The films are provided with a protective film on one side.

The entire machining process runs automatically in a robot cell. A robot removes the films one by one before correcting the position supported by a camera and placing the films in a press. The punched films are removed from the press by an independent linear handling system and deposited in another stacking box. Loading and unloading are carried out by the operator via drawer magazines. The production cycle inside of the cell is not disturbed during the process.

Robot cell – automation cleaning system and deburring process

Robot-assisted deburring, workpiece transport by means of workpiece carrier system

The cleaning and machining process of various motorhousings upstream and downstream of a customer’s existing cleaning system was almost completely automated in this project.

Different types of housings are manually placed on coded workpiece carriers. The transport takes place via a chain roller conveyor with accumulating function. A camera station inspects the housings for various features, for selection of the associated brushing programs. An essential part of the automation is the robot cell. The parts are deburred in this cell by feeding them to different brushes using the robot.

After washing by the customer, the housings are returned to the conveyor system with buffer section. After manual removal, the workpiece carriers are finally moved automatically into the associated logistics module in the workpiece carrier magazine.

In order to achieve particularly user-friendly working conditions, the automated loading of a CNC milling center was implemented under collaborative conditions. In this process a cobot that is placed onto our robot platform takes on the loading process.

The collaborative features allow close cooperation with the worker without the need for safety enclosure. The unmachined and finished parts are picked up by a gripper with special protection properties. Opening and closing as well as clamping and releasing of the parts in the machine vice operates automatically.
