Automatic loading of a machine tool

Workpiece:

Threaded bushings

Task:

Positionally correct transfer of threaded bushings to a grinding machine as well as cleaning and measuring of the ground parts.

Solution:

The threaded bushings on workpiece carriers are fed into the system via a conveyor belt. The robot removes the blanks from the workpiece carrier and feeds them to a camera detection system, which determines the radial alignment and corrects it using a rotary unit. The robot transfers the parts to the grinding machine in the correct position.

After the grinding process and return to the robot, the parts are cleaned and then measured in an integrated measuring station. The finished parts are transported out of the plant again via the belt. Test and n.o.k. parts are stored in locked drawers.
