Robot cell – automation cleaning system & deburring process

Workpiece:

Cast iron and aluminum motor housing

Task:

Automation of workpiece transport by means of workpiece carrier system, robot cell and two gripper units. Automation of the deburring process by robotic brushing cell.

Solution:

Different types of housings are manually placed on coded workpiece carriers (WT). The transport takes place via a chain roller conveyor with stowage function. A camera station inspects the housings for various characteristics, for the selection of the brushing programs.An essential part of the automation is formed by the robot cell. The parts are deburred in this cell by feeding them to different brushes using the robot.

After washing by the customer, the housings are returned to the conveyor system with buffer section. After manual removal, the workpiece carriers are finally moved automatically into the associated logistics module in the workpiece carrier magazine.
